GAMBIAN MINISTER OF DEFENCE LEADS THE DELEGATION TO RWANDA ON STUDY TOUR
On 19 November 2019 , Honorable Sheikh Omar Faye , The Gambian Minister of Defence and his Delegation who were on study tour in Rwanda met with the representatives of MOD Welfare Agencies at Hall room of Zigama CSS- HQ located near National Amahoro stadium at Remera with purpose to learn from RDF experiences on the implementation of armed forces in medical health insurance, welfare and socio economic transformation of the country.
The briefings were well conducted on military medical insurance, military Financial cooperatives, armed shop project and investment company concerned with the financial, social and environmental impact of businesses in Rwanda and were presented by the Representatives of MOD Welfare Agencies. Onside of MMI, as one of Agencies and a public Institution which was represented by the Ag. Director General, Lt Col Dr K R Kayondo, shared the best practices and experiences on how MMI provides medical health insurance to its members and their dependents. He also briefed the delegation on other supports provided by MMI with view to respond to the needs and goals set of the country.
As proclaimed by the Honorable Gambian Minister of Defence and his delegation composed of Permanent Secretary and other two members of the staff, they were really impressed by the RDF progress so far achieved in military medical insurance, welfare and socio economic transformation of the country through efforts of the armed forces at the forefront and this Rwandan military initiatives will inspire them in implementation of Gambian restructuring and sector reform processes.
